• IS CLINTON’S PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN REALLY OVER?

Hillary Clinton is reported to be massaging her finances, redirecting donations from her 2008 general election campaign toward her 2012 Senate reelection fund. Is that really going on, or is she simply making sure that moneys raised pay down her debt, … or, could she be expecting a severe turn in the road ahead?

Following her raising of the white flag and cheerfully announcing her support for Obama, Hillary recessed into the background. She has laid low and not really campaigned for an Obama win. Her comments have been few and far between, although today Bill Clinton suggested that he was ready to campaign whenever the Democrats need him. That is a perfect politically correct statement to make and leaves decisions on the Clinton clan’s involvement in the hands of the Obama organization. It is unlikely that relations between the two camps have thawed.

Meanwhile, some polls have been showing a disturbing trend for Democrats as Obama’s lead against McCain has slipped in the past few months. It depends on what pole one relies, however, in an election where the Republican Presidency has recorded all time low approvals, Obama should be trending the other way in no small measure. He should be heading for a landslide victory, yet this does not appear to be the case. Things would in all likelihood be different if he had chosen Hillary Clinton as his Vice President.

Hillary might very well be realizing that her run for the White House may not be as over as it appeared only one month ago. There is discontent amongst Democrats. Many who once supported Obama, now feel that he has not shown enough strength in leadership, and has demonstrated indecision on core national concerns.

Hillary Clinton is remaining silent in anticipation that a remotely possible event might occur. For herself, as well as for the rest of America, the Democratic convention may yet provide a surprise when all votes are actually taken and counted. It is not impossible, therefore holds some odds of occurring. Obama’s Presidency is not a foregone conclusion. Hillary is not planning her 2012 Senate run at all. She is eyeing an address for next year that she has already inhabited.

  1. My thoughts exactly!

Is Hillary’s public support of Barack sincere?

A new poll in California reinforces the message that Barack doesn’t need Hillary as his Vice-Presidential nominee. An analysis of the Field poll suggests “[a]mong Democratic voters, Hillary Clinton's presence on the ticket doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Only one in 10 say they're concerned about whether she's chosen to run as vice president.” This is a state she won easily in the primary. If this isn’t evidence the “pick Hillary or else” crowd is vocal but small, I don’t know what is.

Several pro-Clinton blogs are crowing about a supposed canvassing of superdelegates that revealed eight who committed to Barack would vote for Hillary in a roll call vote. This appears to be wishful thinking, but even if true, she’d need plenty more to switch to seriously threaten Barack’s nomination.

More than likely, this really part of a campaign to force Barack to make Hillary his “co-President” although her official title would be Vice-President. An Op-Ed in the London Guardian hit the nail on the head with the question “will Hillary and her sulking supporters successfully blackmail Obama into choosing Hillary as his running mate?” The media in this country have not really picked on the shenanigans of Hillary’s supporters nor have they focused on the glaring gap between Hillary’s sucking up to Barack in public and what is apparently going on behind the scenes. Hillary has only “suspended” her campaign. Traditionally when a candidate drops out and endorses the front runner, they release their delegates but Hillary has not done so. Suspending her campaign has also allowed standing to rise by keeping her out of the limelight. Once Hillary dropped out of the race, her negative press coverage ended and even many journalists who had been critical started singing their praise of Hillary. At the same time, Barack faced continued media exposure and had to make some tough decisions. I happen to think Barack voted correctly on the final FISA bill, others don’t but it is clear the easy vote for a Democrat was “no.” Hillary almost certainly would have voted for passage had she been the nominee but knowing the bill was going to pass and free from the burden of being the nominee she took the easy path in an attempt to burnish her credentials with progressives who opposed her and voted in the negative. Naturally, there is some second-guessing about Obama and while Hillary publicly butters up Barack, the implicit message is “hey, I’m still available.”

When is the press going to pick up on Hillary’s game?

  2. Thank you for this article! HRC is NOT out, her campaign was never ended only suspended.
We PUMA's have been working tirelessly! We hope that the announcement from HRC on July 20th is that we've succeeded in paying of her debt! Let the DNC and the country know: Hillary won't stop her fight for us and we will not stop our fight for her!
The fact is HRC stands the best chance of beating Mccain.
What I want to know is: Why is the media not reporting on issues that matter? They devote WHOLE days to supposed 'slights' to the great Obama, yet seem to think his desire to create a new militia that is, "just as well trained, well funded, well armed as the army" is not in the least bit note-worthy?
When hearing this one shudders! Why is American media not informing American citizens of this declaration by Obama made on July 2nd?
PUMA's are here to help disseminate the truth. Please, join us and help elect the candidate you can trust---Senator Clinton!

  3. Whenever I read about anyone's preoccupation with all things Hillary I think, ah, another admission Barack Obama is unfit for office.

  4. No, we PUMAs do NOT want Hillary for VP! We want her either nominated for Pres this time (see hillarysupporters.com for how many delegates are needed to switch -- c. 175) -- or for Pres in 2012 after McCain crushes Obama this year.

With her as VP, Obama/Clinton might win. We don't want that. We want Obama defeated.

Shallow supporters want Hillary VP but the more serious ones oppose that. Recent threads on bitterpoliticz, blog.pumapac.org, and hillaryis44.org show hardly anyhone favors it.

  6. Obama's weaknesses are becomming more and more apparent. Oh well, appearance is everything when you lack substance and Obama certainally has the news media fawning over his every gesture.
I'm hoping the DNC come to their senses and nominate Hillary. Obama outspent her throughout the campaign and still couldn't come up with enough pledged delegates to put him over the top. Now he's running neck and neck with McCain.
He seems to think that this international media circus will give him "foreign policy experience". What a joke.

  7. I am a Hillary Loyalist that will settle for none other than Clinton as the nominee. I have been working hard as a PUMA to make sure every American has the opportunity to read and become fully educated as to why Obama is not for America. Knowledge is Power and Power comes from Knowledge! Lets continue to PUMATIZE THE DNC!!!! READ www.hillaryloyalistnowformccain.com

  8. This is an interesting article, and I love it. Yes, the democratic party is deeply fractured, and there are many people (millions) such as myself you say Party Unity My Ass, and we are Pumas who will not support Obama, or the "changed" dem party. I refuse to support the big top dems who are so corrupt and out of touch with the people.

We want the most qualified and experienced democrat in office: We want Hillary. That's why more people voted for her. We want HER.

  9. All good things come to those who wait! Mr. Obama is showing his lack of experience and humility. His blind ambition and ego overcame his reason. If he had only read his own resume he would have seen he was woefully prepared to be POTUS.

  10. you all are a bunch of cry baby losers. The polls all show Obama comfortably ahead. A 4 to 6 point lead nationally IS a landslide. Look at the state by state polling especially in battle ground states, Obama is crushing McCain and it is only getting better. You all can go a head and vote against your best interests but guess what, it won't matter, especially for you California voters, what was the latest poll, 25 pts for Obama over McCain, yeah, he's really slipping. What is a PUMA anyway Pathetically Unable to something I'm sure. All your perceived slights from Obama are a joke. Bill and Hillary are corporatist dinasaurs who would continue with pretty much the same as we've had. Another thing, to think Hillary would have a better chance against McCain is just stupid. Can you imagine all the Bill tryst over the past 8 years that would be exposed? My, my, you folks are incredibly bitter and naive. It's too bad you all are willing to put your personal vendettas over what's best for the country. Just like GOPers put their party before country, pretty disgusting if you ask me.

  11. Hillary was and still is the best candidate for President. he did not lose to Obama. He "won" on disenfranchising millions through caucuses, not counting votes, apportioning delegates based on 1988 Democratic rules for Jesse Kackson, and Super Delegates being shoved into voting for Obama even when he was trending down! And of course, the media...which is a FREE 24/7 commercial for Obama. Yes, Hillary WON the most votes and is the rightful nominee. PLEASE ALL Hillary supporters ..Democrat, Republican or Independent, Help us see that Hillary is the nominee and for the sake of this wonderful country, the next President of the United States. She was and still is the candidate that has been the voice for the American people. Do it for our counry!

  12. Right on the money! She's not out there and Bill is off to Africa again. The wait and see game is afoot.

    This is how I feel:

    http://logisticsmonster.wordpress.com/2008/07/19/remember-1980/

I personally don't think it is very far-fetched, especially since he is campaigning to people who don't vote because they aren't Americans. Hele On Barack! Keep showing the American Public just how unpresidential you really are.

  13. The Democratic party is deeply fractured. However, DNC knew this may happen after their backroom meeting in May. That was the final straw to many voters. The responsibility lies with htose in charge. We've been told we will vote democratic (we have nowhere else to go), hold Roe v Wade over our heads, call Clinton supporters racist. The party officials just want people to shut up, fake it, and vote democrat this year. This video was made before the meeting in May. It makes clear what the consequences were going to be for disenfranchising the voters of FL & MI.

  14. We can only hope that Democrats do the right thing and nominate HRC. With the economy tanking and America engaged in 2 wars we need HRC to restore economic stability and get us out of Iraq.

Bush comes out and tries to calm fears and the economy drops, Obambi and McCain try to address economic problems and there's chaos for 24 hours. HRC talks about the economy and everything settles. She's the one.

  15. Hillary isn't campaigning..she's already done that! AMERICA has already SHOWN time and again that SHE is the democratic nominee we need to win the White House.
PUMA has been keeping her bid alive, getting out the word that the nominee HAS NOT been elected yet and will not be ratified as such until the Democratic National Convention to be held in Denver come late August.
You still have time to join PUMA and let your voice be known to your elected officials: WE WANT HILLARY! SHE's the one who KEEPS her promises and she WILL win us a democratic Presidency if WE all speak with one voice.
The DNC tried to foist an inexperienced, unelectible and downright dangerous candidate on us, despite the voters, despite the polls that clearly show HRC will beat John Mccain easily!
Join us at JustSayNoDeal or blog.Pumapac.com or one of the HUNDREDS of other organiztions where millions of us have come to ensure the RIGHT candidate is ratified as the democratic candidate so that we can beging to recover from the past 8 years of disaster!

  16. My God, everytime I see comments from these 20-30 PUMAS or whatever they call themselves, I think, 'What a bunch of idiots!'
You lost. Move on. Or don't. Stop whining on every site you can find on the web. You are making more people despise the Clintons, especially Hillary. Obama will win, and then so will you, whether you are smart enough to know it or not.

  17. There are surely some issues regarding the Democratic Party Primaries, which have to be resolved honorable if this bigotry Party Leadership want to keep face and want to win the November elections.
First, the Obamans should pay of immediate the full debt of Hillary Clintons Campaign if they want to take over the 18Million Voters of hers. That is only fair and reasonable. Without doing so, this, already weak Illinois one time Senator, is truly not more worth than many say he is…nothing. His “show-off” payment to Hillary’s Campaign is more an Insult than any good face and is typically for his character.
Second, the self elected Democratic Leadership, Pelosi, Dean and Reid have to show for once face and have to push the impeachment of Bush, otherwise they will be forever being tied to the Failures of the Bush Administration, because they supported it and did not fight it in any way.
If these hypocrites (Pelosi, Dean and Reid) even think that they have a mandate, they should also take the responsibilities such mandate demands.
There will be no change at all, if they do not push their “Crown-Prince” to pay for the 18Million votes and especially not if they let the Bush Administration let getting away with its premeditated crimes against the people and in specific against the Constitution of this Country.
Whit doing nothing of this, the Democrats associate and affiliate themselves with all the same concepts and acts of the Bush Administration and show not any integrity or respect for the peoples votes and trust. Therefore no change can or will happen until this is been resolved.
America wake up, this Democrats, lead by Pelosi, Dean and Reid are not better than Bush, Cheney, Addison and all these others who betrayed us.
Vote for Hillary and topple this morbid Democratic leadership for its incompetence and betrayal to the American People. Or vote independent to show them that their view of right and wrong is as false as they are.

  23. My Pennsylvania Democratic Senator, Robert P. Casey, will NOT discuss his superdelegate vote with me. Because of an "ethics rule put into place by the senate, without the consent or knowledge of the voters, he says he can't discuss his superdelegate vote at the convention. What arrogance! I am a Democrat who wants him to vote for Hillary Clinton. He states in an e-mail to me:

This is a direct quote from his office to my e-mail:
"I welcome your interest in the political future of our country, but Senate ethics rules prohibit me from using government resources to respond to your comments relating to the current political campaigns"

    Where is my representation?

  24. If Barack doesn't win the election because of the Clinton's, I believe the Clinton's are finished in politics as far as being elected in a national election. This election has shown us a new and ugly side to the Clinton's, it seems they will go to any length to be elected, when an election shifts from being about what is best for the country to what is best for the candidate we all lose.

Before you vote for another Clinton ask yourself what have they done for the country lately. Bill Clinton's lies and misdemeanors set us up for George Bush who has destroyed this country, it's time for a new kind of leadership. If Hillary's supporters won't vote for Barack then Barack supporters will never vote for her and some may vote against her, the best she can do is ruin the election for Democrats and that would be a real tragedy.

  25. Barack is the nominee, the voters have spoken. Hillary supporters if you want to see her win a national election in the future stand aside and hope Barack wins this one with or without you, your candidates future depends on it.
